API keys · Groq
Set up Groq.
Groq is a cloud AI service known for very fast responses. It has a free plan and is the quickest AI engine to get running in Soritch.
1. Create a key on Groq
- Go to console.groq.com/keys.
- Sign up or log in with your email, Google or GitHub account.
- Click Create API Key, give it a name you’ll recognise (such as “Soritch”) and confirm.
- Copy the key straight away. It starts with
gsk_.
Groq shows the full key only once. If you close the window before copying it, delete that key and create another.
2. Add it to Soritch
- Open Settings and scroll to AI engine.
- Set Engine to Groq. The Groq rows appear.
- Paste the key into Groq API key and click Save. The field now shows dots and the key’s last four characters.
- Leave Model empty to use the default,
openai/gpt-oss-120b.
3. Check it works
Open Analytics. The status near the top should show a green dot and GROQ with the model name. Run an analysis on any stock.
Limits and troubleshooting
After your first request, Settings › Rate limits shows what Groq reports for your account: requests left today and tokens left this minute, each with a countdown to its reset. If a request fails because you hit a limit, wait for the countdown.
- Current free-plan limits: Groq rate limits.
- Other models you can type into Model: Groq models.
- Red dot — no key is saved.
- “Invalid API key” — the key was pasted incompletely or deleted on Groq’s site.
Switching to another engine doesn’t delete your Groq key, so you can switch back at any time.
Treat an API key like a password. Don’t share it or post it in a screenshot. Soritch stores it only on this computer, shows just its last four characters once saved, and leaves it out of backups unless you choose to include it. If a key leaks, delete it on the provider’s site and create a new one.
