Getting Started
Soritch runs entirely on your own computer, so there's no email verification and nothing to wait on. This guide walks through creating your account, unlocking the app later, and finding your way around once you're in.
The first time you open Soritch, you'll land in a short setup flow instead of the app itself. It's a local account — nothing is sent anywhere, and there's no username to reserve or email to confirm. It exists so the app can be personalized to you and, if you want, locked behind a password on a shared computer.
What you see on your next launch depends on whether you set a password:
This local password is meant to keep one person's fingers out of another's portfolio on a shared computer — not to stand up to a determined attacker. Anyone with direct access to your files could still get in another way, so don't treat it as a full security system.
Once you're past the gate, a sidebar on the left holds seven destinations: Dashboard, Portfolio, Watchlist, News, Analytics, Learn, and Account. It shows your total portfolio value and gain at a glance, and can be collapsed down to icons if you want more screen space.
At the bottom of the sidebar you'll find a gear icon for Settings (currency, theme, chart style, News/AI provider setup) and a small status dot showing whether the market is currently open, in pre-market, after-hours, or closed.
Skipped something during signup, or want to update your address or investor profile? Head to Account → Profile Details and click Complete Profile (or Edit Profile Details) — it reopens the same step-by-step flow so you can fill in or change whatever you left out.
